IEEE ComSoc International Communications Quality and Reliability Workshop
14-17 May 2018 – Austin, Texas, USA

About

The IEEE CQR International Workshop is held annually with the purpose of bringing together industry and academic experts to present and discuss communications quality, reliability and security issues as they relate to real world issues.   The output from the workshops adds to the community’s body of knowledge and serves to inform, help form opinions, and to assist in the development of best practices and relevant standards.

The focus of the 2018 Emerging Technology Reliability Round Table will be issues influencing and associated with 5G Wireless.  When you register for the CQR International Workshop, the program content of the Round Table is available to you at no additional charge.  You can observe the discussion of the topic experts and participate in Q&A.  Breakfast and lunch on Monday are provided, again at no additional charge.  There is a registration option to select an additional hotel night for Sunday evening if required for your travel plans.

Scope of the (co-located) Emerging Technology Reliability Round Table – Monday May 14, 2018

  • Discuss and identify the RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) challenges, requirements and methodologies in the emerging technology areas like the Wireless/Mobility (with focus on 5G technologies), Cloud Computing, , NFV (Network Functions Virtualization), SDN (Software Defined Networking), or similar large-scale distributed and virtualization systems.
  • Discuss the RAS requirements and technologies for mission-critical industries (e.g., airborne systems, railway communication systems, the banking and financial communication systems, etc.), with the goal to promote the inter-industry sharing of related ideas and experiences.
  • Identify potential directions for resolving identified issues and propose possible solutions.
